Marking G-Code Generator Beta / demo
Type your text, pick your AKS marking tool, set the Z values and download the program. Text, SVG logos, DataMatrix codes and auto-incrementing serial numbers, with a 2D/3D simulation. Free and runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Beta / demo. Free tool to help you get started. The output is not validated on every machine or control: prove it out on a scrap part, single block, low feed override. Use at your own risk. Beta notice and disclaimer →
What it does
- TextSingle-line stroke font with height, spacing, alignment and angle. Tool profiles for PMT20AL and HMT20 dot peen and SMT20 / SMT12 scratch marking, each with the correct Z logic.
- Logo (SVG)Load an SVG: filled shapes are marked as outlines, strokes as lines, scaled to the width you choose.
- DataMatrixECC200 codes struck dot by dot or in raster mode; cell pitch and clearance height are adjustable.
- Serial numbersFixed text plus batch and serial fields. The program counts up on the machine using Fanuc-style macro variables — no new download for the next part.
- SimulationTop and 3D view, line-by-line highlight of the running block, single-block stepping and a time estimate.
How to use it
- Choose your AKS tool. Marking Z, retract height and feed defaults load for that tool.
- Enter the content: text, an SVG logo, DataMatrix text or a serial-number template such as P45-@@@@-####.
- Set start X/Y, surface Z and safe Z for your part, and the M codes for air or through-spindle coolant.
- Download the .nc file and prove it out on a scrap part: single block, low feed override, area clear.
Machines and controls
The output is generic ISO G-code in the Fanuc style: G00/G01, G17, G90, with macro variables #100 and #101 for marking Z and feed so the operator can adjust them on the machine. Serial-number programs use custom macro B (G65, #500, WHILE, FIX), standard on Fanuc and Haas controls. If your control differs, the generator shows plain-English notes you can hand to your programmer or AI assistant. Lathe posts (X diameter, G98) are planned.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is it free? Do I need to install anything?
Yes, it is free, and nothing is installed. The generator runs in your browser; your text, logos and settings stay on your computer and are not sent to a server.
-
Which machines and controls does it support?
Machining centres and milling machines with Fanuc-style ISO G-code, including Haas. The code is deliberately generic; check the M codes for air or coolant and the Z values for your setup. Lathe posts with X diameter programming are planned.
-
How does the serial number work on the machine?
The fixed text is drawn in the main program. The batch and serial digits are drawn by a small digit-table program that the main program calls with G65. The next serial is kept in macro variable #500 and the batch in #501; the program adds 1 at the end of each run. You change the values on the control's macro variable page — no new download per part.
-
What do Z0 and marking Z mean?
Z0 is the stylus tip resting on the part surface. Dot peen tools (PMT20AL, HMT20) mark above the surface, typically Z+1 to Z+5, so the needle can strike. Scratch tools (SMT20, SMT12) are pressed 1–2 mm into the surface for spring preload. The generator sets the sign and range for each tool and warns if a value is out of range.
-
Has the code been tested on a machine?
The motion is verified in the built-in simulation and the DataMatrix output has been struck on a machine and read with a code reader. Validation of every mode on every control is still in progress — that is why the tool is marked beta. Always run the first part as a scrap part, in single block.
Beta notice and disclaimer
This free tool is provided to help you get started with AKS marking tools. The generated code is produced from your inputs and has not been validated on every machine or control. Always prove it out first on a scrap part, in single block, with a low feed override and the area clear. You are responsible for checking the program on your machine. AKS Teknik accepts no liability for damage to machines, tools, workpieces or injury arising from the use of this tool or its output. Everything runs in your browser; your inputs are not sent to a server.
